About the Site:
Soulminx is a Los Angeles based boutique event company specializing in turning special moments into extraordinary experiences. Their event services include weddings, birthdays, mitsvahs, celebrations, corporate events, and social gatherings. The founder wished for the site to be a portfolio of her work first, with the ability to get in contact about her services with potential clients.Role: Web Designer
I worked closely with the founder, Julie, to understand her company, background, and needs for her website utilizing Figma as a tool to bridge communications between her ideas and our design. I meet weekly with Julie to ensure project progress aligns within the project scope and ensure that project requirements are being met. Process
Initial Concept
When delivering initial designs, I wanted to offer alternative solutions that would implement an emphasis on the Call to Action of the site. To do so, I planned on placing direct visual and text-based language towards starting an event with Soulminx. The left design features the safer option of the two, keeping an emphasis on the portfolio aspect of the site while offering a window pop-up introducing Soulminx and offering a quick link to starting an event. The right design focused more on pure call to action. It would use more directed visuals towards the user's needs through Soulminx's mission to make every event memorable, headlined by the "Let's Make Memories" Tagline.
Initial Branding Concepts
When first envisioning the site, I wanted to capture Julie's past experience planning and designing weddings in Soulminx's branding. To accomplish this, I created stylized square-cut diamond buttons, image frames, and element frames. In the end, we decided on the simpler look of solid colored, capsule buttons.
